Real Madrid are considering a £100million bid for Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford, The Sun reports. The deal will certainly not happen in the January window, but the Spanish giants are keen to land the England international in the summer. Rashford has been reluctant to sign a new contract, with his existing deal running until 2020, although the club has the option of extending it by a further year. The Red Devils are ready to increase his £60,000-a-week wage up to around the  £200,000 mark , but the 21-year-old is still keen to hold off. This has alerted the attention of Real and it is believed that the reigning Champions League holders have already been in contact with Rashford’s representatives.

The Police in Anambra State, on Thursday said they arrested a teenage boy for allegedly stealing a woman’s underwear for ritual purposes. The command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Haruna Mohammed, a Superintendent of Police, said in Awka that the suspect, 19, was apprehended on Jan. 11, at Onitsha. “On January 11, 2019, at about 6.48 a.m., Police detectives attached to Central Police Station, Onitsha, arrested the suspect of Ogbaku in Mbaitolu Local Government Area of Imo. “The suspect allegedly stole a female pant washed and spread on a rope at 21, Umuna Street, Odoakpu, Onitsha in Anambra,” Mohammed said. He said that the suspect planned to sell the underwear to a yet-to-be-identified persons at N80, 000 for alleged ritual purposes. He said that the underwear was recovered from the suspect as exhibit, adding that effort was being intensified to apprehend other fleeing accomplices in the incident. Wayne Rooney was arrested and fined in the United States last month for public intoxication and swearing. The former England and Manchester United captain, who now plays for Major League Soccer's DC United, was arrested on 16 December in Virginia. A spokesman for Loudoun County Sheriff's Office confirmed Rooney w as taken into custody "on a charge of public intoxication stemming from an arrest by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police". The spokesman added: "He was later released on a personal recognizance bond."  According to reports, Rooney was arrested at Dulles International Airport, which is located in the northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, after a returning from a trip to Saudi Arabia where he attended the opening race of the Formula E season near Riyadh.  Court documents from Loudoun General District Court show that Rooney, 33, paid a $25 fine and $91 costs on 4 January.
